A step above Aiguiles Marbrees the traverse of Aiguille d’Entrèves is elegant and with amazing views of both Mont Blanc and Courmayeur below. Never hard the exposed nature of the climbing requires sure footing and familiarity with mixed terrain.

For many the Frendo Spur on the Aiguille du Midi is the first big alpine big route they dream of. It is hard not to be mesmerised by this elegant line so visible from down-town Chamonix and over which the hordes of tourist navigate in the glass box of the cable-car each day on their way to the Aiguille du Midi top terrace.

Climbed for the first time in 1968 by C.Gren, G.Grisolle, A.Poulain, M.Ziegler et André Contamine the “Contamine-Grisole” is a classic technical route on the Triangle du Tacul and one of the slightly easier climbing routes on this face.

With perfect views of Arête de Peuterey on the Mont Blanc this route is a classic. We are offering this, longer, route in place of the ‘normal route’ to Tour Ronde due to reduced objective hazard and aestheticism of the line. Without being ‘out there’ climbing the SE ridge of Tour Ronde is still a serious and demanding day in the mountains and the perfect step-up from Aiguilles Marbrees traverse.
